A story about a stormy day

I’m going to tell you a story about a girl named Becky. She’s a college student, and when this event happened she was staying at her parents’ cottage for the weekend. It is important to know that this house is located far from any kind of civilization, next to a huge forest.

It was a typical autumn day, so Becky and her mother decided to go into the woods to find some mushrooms and enjoy the forest’s natural beauty. It all started well: they found some edible mushrooms and they saw some beautiful birds. However, some time passed and it started to rain. Then, bigger raindrops started to fall at a faster speed. Ten minutes passed and it was already a storm, lighting and thunder included. A forest wasn’t a safe place to stay, so Becky and her mother decided to get out of there as soon as possible and get back to the cottage. The problem was that, by the time the storm started they had already gotten into a path they don’t usually take, so they didn’t know where to go. Their fear, stress and instinct of survival was stronger than their logical thoughts, so they decided to run as fast as they could until they found a road they recognized or they got out of the forest.

In the end they were able to return back home. They were safe, but awfully wet and stressed. Becky’s father was very worried about both of them. That’s why Becky is extremely scared of storms and why autumn is her least favourite season. She still likes to have a walk through the forest occasionally, but now she always looks the weather forecast before making that plan.
