I thought I typed this already but I can't find it. As you know Tagalog content includes a lot of English, I don't like having English I mark as known counting towards my total list of known Tagalog words. Also to ignore it takes an extra click because it's not one of the one options when just cycling through clicking the word.

Possible Solutions:

1. Check box it auto ignore any word found in your existing English dictionary (preferred).

2. Allow for importing of words in to the "Ignored List" the way you can do it for the other lists (should be easy enough to do). I will just upload my own English word dict.

3. Add "Ignored" status as one of the options when cycling through colors on a word in the reading tool. (least favorite but acceptable, make it the very last option so it doesn't add extra clicks to normal use).

4. On the back end, just for me, import the English words in to my ignored list, I don't really need an interface to do this myself since this is a one time kinda deal but I think others could find it useful.

The reading tool is great and to fully get in to it I want to have accurate stats and not get credit for all these English words.

You might say there are some words in English that it may cancel out in Tagalog, the overlap is small and those are likely common words, and besides you are still free to mark them something else while reading.

Keep up the good work guys! Thanks.

1. You already have this dictionary but can you integrate the results directly on the left, too many words are missing and/or are crap definitions. This is the best dictionary around.

2. If not, can you make it less clicks? It's cumbersome to have to click on Add Translation just to query another dictionary. Allow to set a favorite dictionary and make it 1-click (or even a double click on the word)

Learning Tagalog

Hello to anyone who may happen to be reading this. I'm Joe, 38, and originally from the USA. I've been living the Philippines for 7+ years now. While I have been picking up Tagalog by osmosis here and there, I recently decided to to put in the effort to truly learn the language of my adopted home.

My plan is to journal here about my progress, set backs, frustrations, etc. I don't actually expect any one to read this but you are welcome to. This is something I'm doing for myself to help keep me moving forward. I hope that is OK. However I do invite anyone to join in on this thread at any time and would appreciate the feedback. I apologize in advance for any boredom I may cause you when reading this though.

In my next post I will try to detail where I've been and where I'm at and my plan to move forward. I just wanted to get this log started once and for all.

Joe
